Annapolis in Bloom

For A Beautiful City

The Downtown Annapolis Partnership, through its Main Streets program, coordinates the Annapolis in Bloom project. Beauty is transformative and flowering planters and hanging flower baskets throughout historic Annapolis make residents and visitors feel welcomed and safe.  Studies show that visitors and shoppers will stay longer in an area that conveys beauty.

In 2015, this was a nearly 50,000 project done in partnership with local businesses, residents, the City of Annapolis and Homestead Gardens and brought nearly 50 planters and 136 hanging baskets to the historic streets of Annapolis.  Beautiful flowering baskets were hung on the Eastport Bridge, along City Dock, Dock Street, up Main Street, along Church and State Circles, and down Maryland Avenue and West Streets.  The planters hit the streets in late May and were maintained and beautified our streets into the fall. These efforts were further complimented by local businesses adding flowers and planters to their storefronts and surrounding building areas.  This collective effort kept Annapolis in full bloom and our City streets looking gorgeous!
